#SaturdayDiary – The Old Ebbitt Grill review

After some harsh snow days, Mother Nature finally showed some mercy this weekend, and let us enjoy our weekend!

Saturday, the hubby and I had a great afternoon.

We went to visit an art museum

Cool museum devoted to modern and contemporary art. I will do a post prensenting it.

Then, we had a nice little walk along the Washington Monument, and enjoyed the sunset

AND, here comes my favorite moment of the day: FOOD TIME!

I was craving a salmon burger! We looked up nearby restaurants on Yelp, and there it appeared on our screen: the Old Ebbitt Grill. Good rates, salmon burger on the menu, so, of course, we were going to give it a try!

When we arrived, the place was packed! I think it was 6 or 6:30 pm. We overheard that we had to wait 1h30 (!) to be seated or we could go to one of their 4 bars. All of the bars were full, too. We waited quite some time, and we were even about to leave when, finally, seats were released! The wait was worth it, though. The service was good. The bartender was really nice. He let us know that the specialities of the house are the oysters and the crabcakes. Those were, in fact, DELICIOUS! And, the salmon buger I ordered was a real KILLER. Yup, we got a Cyrielle-Killer killing that Killer! Icing on the cake, the bartender even offered us shots since we are newlyweds!

I definitely want to go back, but, maybe, with a reservation this time!
